Dr. Kaleem Ahmad Aajiz Sb Damat Barkatuhum
Professor Janab Dr. KalIm Aajiz Sb Ameer e Mohtaram of Bihar Tablighi Jamaat has Many facets in his life.
A greta Urdu Poet and the author of several books , Dr. Ajiz is a retired professor of Patna University Bihar India and a recipient of Padamashree award from Government of India for his contributions to Urdu literature. In 1976, his first book of ghazals was released by the President of India in Vigyan Bhawan, Delhi. In the '60s and '70s he was the only Urdu poet who represented Bihar in the Red Fort Mushaira held every year in Delhi on the eve of Independence Day. Dr. Ajiz, was born in in Patna district in the 1920s. He was a gold medalist in BA from Patna College and then earned his Masters degree in Urdu from Patna University. He also got his doctorate from Patna University for his thesis on "Evolution of Urdu Literature in Bihar." This thesis is now available in a book form. He served as a lecturer and Professor for decades in the Department of Urdu at Patna University.
The Government of Bihar has appointed chairman of the Bihar Urdu Standing Committee (Bihar Urdu Mushawarati Committee) for promotion of this second official language of the state in 2008. This humble and pious man is loved by everyone Out of respect and love Naushad Ahmad, chairman of state minority commission, himself visited the residence of Dr Kaleem Ajiz at the advice of the chief minister and requested him to accept this post.Many research Scholars are doing their PhD thesis on the works of Dr. Kaleem Ajiz sb in various universities
He is known for the ease in which he could express his thoughts through verses.
In his words:
“Yeh pukar saare chaman mein thi, woh sehar hui woh sehar hui
Mere aashiyyan se dhooan utha, to mujhe bhi iski khabar hui.”
(There was this outcry everywhere in the garden that the morning has come, morning has come!! When smoke started rising from my nest, I also became aware of this.)
He a man who is always worry laden and thinking about success of mankind in life after death. Very soft spoken a person you may see in a corner of Patna Markaz (Noori Masjid, Madarsa Shamshul Huda Patna) on Shabguzari day very weak frail health. No one can recognize him. The qurbani (Sacrifice) and mujahidah oozes by sitting these peoples company.
